A recognized expert on the topic of succession, Stephanie frequently collaborates with clients on key aspects of this process, such as establishing plans for continuity, drafting needed policies and governance structures, clarifying stakeholder roles, and building a framework for next-generation collaborations. Her work is driven by knowledge and experience from the fields of management, entrepreneurship and psychology.
In addition to her consulting work, Stephanie co-authored Building a Successful Business Board and Siblings and the Family Business two well-regarded, practical books published by Palgrave. A regular contributor to thought leadership in the field, Stephanie is also the Executive Editor of the Family Business Advisor.
|Joe is a principal consultant of the Family Business Consulting Group, Inc. with expertise in the areas of sibling groups, strategy and growth. Joe assists family-owned or closely-held organizations increase their value through the continuous creation of successful new business opportunities. In collaboration with a network of experienced professionals who teach and apply pragmatic processes for each situation, Joe's focus revolves around strategic growth initiatives within family businesses.|
Joe earned his Masters of International Management degree from the American Graduate School of International Management (Thunderbird) and a Bachelor of Science degree from Central Michigan University. Joe is trained as a professional opportunity analyst through the new product development system known as Planned Innovation.
Joe serves on a number of business and community boards, including: Burke E. Porter Machinery Company (Chairman), Century FloorSpace, Custer Workplace Interiors, Via Design (Treasurer), Mayline Furniture, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (President of W. Michigan Chapter), and Saint Mary's Doran Foundation.
|Mike Fassler has been serving family businesses since 1984. Mike provides family business planning services with a focus on helping his clients grow their relationships, capabilities and businesses.|
Mike helps families develop and implement plans to transfer leadership, management, and ownership of their businesses to both family and non-family successors. Most of Mike's work is focused on family businesses owned by sibling teams and cousin teams. A significant component of Mike's work with clients includes strategic planning with an emphasis on helping clients balance the competing demands of the family and the business as the business grows.
Mike understands how to teach and motivate family business leaders to develop and use decision making, communication, and reward structures that help their family businesses become more effective in achieving personal, family, and business goals.
|David Ransburg, a consultant with the Family Business Consulting Group, Inc. has a rare combination of expertise in both business and psychology. He brings strong relationship skills, deep business knowledge, and broad-based experience in executive assessment, coaching, and group facilitation to his family enterprise engagements.|
With over a dozen years of business experience in industries such as real estate, financial services, marketing, and manufacturing, he is adept at strategic as well as financial analysis of business opportunities. Additionally, David has been formally trained in interpersonal relationships and systems theory to motivate individuals, resolve intra-organizational conflict, and build an effective team-oriented organization.
David received a BA in Economics from Stanford University, an MBA from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management, and an MA in Counseling Psychology from Northwestern University.
Additionally, David has served on the faculty of Kellogg's "New Leadership for the Family Enterprise" course as well as Loyola University's Family Business Next Generation Leadership Institute. He was formerly a staff therapist at the renowned Family Institute at Northwestern University.
