The aging-services industry is facing its most dramatic change in regulations in 25 years with CMS's recent release of its Reform of Requirements for Long-Term Care Facilities. The new regulations, which will be implemented in several phases, seek to improve care and safety for nearly 1.5 million residents in the more than 15,000 long-term care facilities that participate in the Medicare and Medicaid programs.
This webinar will highlight the main thrusts of the rule and will identify resources to assist organizations in navigating the sea of specific changes mandated. Ms. Kinneer will bring her experience auditing health care compliance to the realm of long-term care reform and will share an audit tool that attendees can use to assess compliance in their organizations. Methods for achieving and maintaining compliance with the regulations will be shared in the context of improving care for residents.
Following the webinar participants will be able to:
1. Understand the changes to the requirements for long-term care organizations that participate in the Medicare and Medicaid programs.
2. Categorize the regulations into key themes to simplify compliance.
3. Assess compliance with the regulations and implement the necessary changes to improve resident safety
