In an ever-changing healthcare industry, there is always one constant: HIPAA. While the language of HIPAA remains the same, its role and enforcement do not. The latter half of 2016 and beginning of 2017 have ushered in significant events in regards to HIPAA that affect the healthcare industry.
This webinar will focus on these events and what is driving the increased enforcement of HIPAA, in particular the Omnibus rule. Healthcare providers, insurers, business associates, I.T. and patients alike are all encountering the outcomes of HIPAA compliancy and, in some cases, lack of compliancy.
The Objectives that we will cover during this webinar:
1. HIPAA in the news
2. Phase 2 HIPAA audits
3. Mobile device management
4. Areas of High Risk
John has worked extensively with healthcare organizations throughout the U.S. in leveraging IT systems for their specific needs. He has had exposure to the applicability of these systems in areas focusing on Electronic Health Records (EHR), HIPAA security and compliance, practice management, and reporting programs. From collaborating with staff of all levels in healthcare, John has formed a well-rounded understanding of IT’s role in healthcare and best practices that make an organization successful and compliant.
Professional & Industry Experience
