Marie A. Bass, MS, CAE, is the Director of Education Strategy at the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) where she is responsible for HFMA's Certification Programs, distance learning and online learning initiatives. She is also responsible for new educational product development at HFMA.

Prior to HFMA, Marie was an account executive at SmithBucklin Corporation, where she served as executive director to a number of healthcare organizations and served on SmithBucklin's Consulting Group. She has over 25 years of experience in association strategy for organizational growth and has presented numerous industry workshops on these topics. She has background in healthcare as a clinical laboratory scientist, and has a MS degree in Education.

Laurie McBrierty, MLT, ASCP
Vice President of Product Management for Career Step and Panacea

Laurie brings close to 30 years of experience in healthcare, healthcare information systems, and product management to Career Step, where she drives the product management of the company's offerings. Prior to joining Career Step, Laurie served in various executive positions with companies such as xG Health Solutions, WellPoint, Resolution Health, QuadraMed, Kaiser Permanente plus others She has also served on various boards and committees within the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) and is a respected leader in health information management. Laurie holds a bachelor's degree in Information Systems Management from the University of San Francisco.
