Errors in clinical judgment is one of the top contributing factors to resident injury and malpractice claims in senior living and skilled nursing settings. Clinical judgment is the result of combined critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills and aid care team members in interpreting resident situations and responding appropriately. You can teach, develop and foster critical thinking skills in your health care team members. This webinar will outline how to develop a culture of critical thinking in your organization.

Objectives:
This webinar will provide you with the knowledge to:

Presenter


Michelle Kinneer, RN, MSN, JD, CPHRM, CHPC, CHC

Michelle Kinneer joined MMIC as a senior risk and patient safety consultant in 2014. Michelle brings more than 20 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, licensed in Iowa and Illinois, and more than 10 years of experience in health care risk management. In her role, Michelle provides tailored services that promote patient safety and minimize risk for MMIC clients. Her expertise ranges from support and consultation to customized educational services and on-site assessments.

Michelle is an active member of the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management, Health Care Compliance Association, American College of Healthcare Executives, and American Associations for Long-Term Care Nursing. Michelle earned a bachelor's degree in nursing at Southeast Missouri State University, a master's degree in nursing from the University of South Alabama, and a Juris Doctorate from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. Michelle is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management, Certified in Healthcare Compliance and Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance.
