Formerly partner at TRU for 17 years, the leading research firm specializing in teens and twenty-somethings, and now the co-founder of 747 Insights, Michael has spent the past two decades impressing clients with his accomplished research skill and consummate understanding of consumer behavior. Many of the world's most powerful brands-Nike and Adidas, Coke and Pepsi, Nordstrom and Target, too many to list-have relied on Michael's valuable expertise and insights.
Michael has been widely quoted on youth-marketing issues, appearing in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Chicago Tribune, Los Angeles Times, Washington Post, USA Today, Time, Business Week, Newsweek, Forbes, Fortune, Advertising Age and on CBS, CNN, CNBC, NPR, and countless other media.
Michael is a frequent keynote speaker at major conferences and industry events worldwide. He has addressed hundreds of audiences at conferences including the Consumer Electronics Show, Talking to Teens, Texas A&M's Retail Summit, and MTV India's Brand Equity forum in Bombay. He has also been a guest lecturer at Harvard Business School and Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management.
Before joining TRU, Michael worked in market research at Levi Strauss & Company in Brussels. He began his career at the U.S. Small Business Administration in Washington, DC. Michael has a Master's degree in International Marketing from Boston University and a BS degree in Marketing from the University of Alabama.
A true southern gentleman, Michael enjoys being a dad to two Gen Z daughters, running outdoors (rain or shine), and Alabama football.
