Webinar Description

Fatigue is a fact of life in our always-on, 24/7 world. Sleep deficit has a profound impact on people's ability to work safely and productively on the job, and to enjoy life in off-the-job hours. For employers, managing fatigue is necessary to decrease incidents, injuries, and the financial burden caused by sleep problems. Learn how to implement a fatigue risk management system as we detail our new report Managing Fatigue: Developing an Effective Fatigue Risk Management System.

Emily Whitcomb is currently Senior Program Manager in the Advocacy Department, leading the fatigue initiative for the National Safety Council. Emily is responsible for developing strategy and executing programs that advance the goal of effectively managing fatigue as a contributor to preventable deaths.

Emily joined the National Safety Council in January 2014 as a Research Associate conducting program evaluation for community, transportation and workplace injury prevention programs. Emily has a Masters of Public Health from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Her research has been published in multiple peer review journals and in the media, including contributions to The New York Times.
